MY DEEPEST SECRET

There's a saying" you're as sick as your deepest secret. People spend their whole life's running from their deepest secrets and fears. My deepest secret is the fact that as a child i was so dyslexic i couldn't talk. I was in speech therapy for many years and learned how to talk through a long process of pronouncing letters and syllables. when I entered highschool and it took a lot of work for me to catch up. Music is base in math so learning to play guitar really helped me in many ways. I graduated in the middle of my highschool class and went on to study music at Berklee college of music. If Life has taught me anything, it's taught me that both kids and adults can be cruel. When you're different people will single you out. I've been loved, valued and respected, and I've been singled out mocked and ridiculed, both as a child and as a adult. The sad reality is some people derive pleasure, value and selfworth by talking about people with as little dignity as possible. I always hid my learning disability and worked very hard to keep it hidden . Running from your secrets is a burden that can crush your spirit, and lead you to rage and depression . The power of a secret is that fact that it's a secret. The fear of what people will think, can emotionally paralyze you and destroy your life. When you share your secret there may be people who shun you, but those who share the same past will feel a sense of freedom and validation. Most people will respect your honesty. I reached a realization that i can't encourage other people to walk in the truth of God, without sharing my truth and my testimony. Move past your fears and secrets and be the person that God called you to be.
